TWO RECENT REFURBISHMENT CASE STUDIES
Case study 1
Sam and his family moved to Dubai for work. They rented their Yorkshire home out for two years but wanted to sell it and buy a family home in Dubai.
Despite being on the market for six months the house didn’t sell at £500k. And yet, Sam knew it was worth £650K in tip-top condition. Trouble was to get it there they needed to spend at least £60k – a sum Sam simply didn’t have.
And that’s where we stepped in here at Newsam Properties. We carried out – and paid for – the refurbishment works to get the house to top dollar. Sam was sent a full schedule of works with a fixed cost. He only had to pay us once the house sold. Happily it went for £655k. So not only did Sam finally sell the house, but he was now also £155k better off.
Incidentally, we handled all the business with the estate agents and solicitors too At his request, we also put items into storage for Sam.
Case study 2
The Wilks family were looking to sell a house they had inherited from a close family member. They were emotionally involved and found dealing with the property difficult. So, they asked us at Newsam Properties to carry out the necessary work and sell for them.
We spend £75k on refurbishments. These were pretty extensive and included rewiring, a new central heating and gas supply, replastering every room and full interior redecoration.
We dealt with the solicitors and estate agent and were paid after the house was sold. The Wilks’ were delighted with their hands-free sale.
